Oświęcim, known to the world as Auschwitz, is a town in Poland
shrouded in the shadows of its harrowing past. It is home to the largest extermination camps of the Nazi regime, where almost 90% of Polish Jews were mercilessly annihilated. As I walked through
the camp site, with the biting cold of -8°C in December piercing my skin, I could scarcely fathom the immense suffering and dehumanization endured by the innocent souls forced to toil in such
brutal conditions. The air was heavy with the echoes of their pain, each step a somber reminder of their unimaginable torment. Though I have delved deeply into World War II history over the past
months, words fall short of capturing the full horror. For now, I will let the haunting images convey the sorrow etched into this place.
